The Pittsburgh Steelers have released their inactives for their Week 17 game against the Cleveland Browns. With three players coming going on the Reserve/COVID-19 List Saturday coupled with four elevations from the practice squad, the Steelers have an inactive list of 6 players, all of which did not travel to Cleveland with the team. Two players are listed with an injury while the other four are simply held out for rest.

Kicker Chris Boswell is missing his second straight game, and his third game in five weeks, with a groin injury. Although head coach Mike Tomlin claims it is a different injury from what kept him out in Week 13, Boswell was ruled out after missing two practices following his return last Wednesday. While Steelers’ fans are hopeful Boswell will be fine for the postseason, Matthew Wright will be taking over the kicking duties against the Browns.
Safety Terrell Edmunds is missing the first game with his NFL career with a shoulder injury. Missing every practice this past week, Edmunds was not mentioned either on Sunday or on Tuesday by Mike Tomlin as a player who was dealing with anything following the Steelers Week 16 win over the Colts. Hopefully Edmunds injury is more precautionary and he can return in time for the Steelers Wild Card matchup.
All the other for Steelers on the inactive list are all healthy scratches who are being rested to prepare for a postseason run. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was ruled out on Friday after Coach Tomlin announced Tuesday he would be given the week off. On Saturday, it was announced linebacker T.J. Watt, defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, and center Maurkice Pouncey will sit out Week 17 not due to injury as they did not make the trip with the team to Cleveland.
With Roethlisberger, Heyward, Watt, and Pouncey all inactive, Jordan Dangerfield is the only captain remaining for the Steelers in Week 17.
As for the Browns’ inactives, they can be seen below courtesy of ESPN’s Jake Trotter. After being questionable on Friday, guard Wyatt Teller is active although it was believed he would miss the final three games of the season. With the Browns failing to clinch a playoff birth last week and injuries to Chris Hubbard and Nick Harris, Teller will not get a chance to rest his injured ankle.
