MUMBAI: The BMC standing committee on Wednesday rejected the administration’s proposal to appoint four city colleges as thirdparty auditors to inspect civic works, including road repairs.
Objecting to the proposal, Samajwadi Party corporator Rais Shaikh pointed out that there are already BMC engineers to monitor works so there is no need for third-party auditor. He added that past experiences have showed that civic engineers try to hide their negligence by pushing the blame on third-party auditors.
